Belly pics

So, to me, when I look at myself in the mirror, my belly looks big. But as you see, I guess its not very yet. 17 weeks, 3 days. Praise the Lord.

Oh, at 16 weeks, we both felt the baby move for the first time, kick in fact. Yay!

So we made it. It has been a really busy 3 weeks. We went to LA and then we drove to LA and then we drove to Olympia. I have an oven! I made zucchini muffins tonight, they turned out great.





So here is the entry way, it's huge, the door and another closet are to the left.


The bedroom is to the right when you come in the door, there's a bathroom and a huge walk-in closet. Perfect for storing car storage hutches.


Here is a photo from the window in the living room, this is low tide so there is a lot of mud.

Here's the living room. The lady who owns this condo wanted to take her couch with her (she had a stroke and is in rehab of some sort) so we have three lazyboys.

10 week visit

So we went yesterday. We had a disgustingly long wait to see the Dr. I had to fast as they made me do a bunch of blood tests, so I was hungry and therefore nauseous. Thankfully, my sweet heart Shawn came with me, so I wasn't in misery alone. He had just gotten off a shift and was kept awake for way too long. We went in at 8am and didn't get out of there till after 11!

Praise be to God, the baby is alive and well. This will be the last appointment for a while. I may find a dr in WA in April or May. We'll see.

Quilt pics

The quilting part isnt done yet. I thought I might stipple it, but the test area that I did isn't looking too well. So maybe I will hand quilt it after all. And obviously, no binding yet, till it's quilted.

Its getting better!

Sausage, onions and peppers over rice. Yes, I made it and I ate it! This meal reminds me of our good friend Ed. He used to come over and make it for us, and any homeless person around at the time. I miss Ed.

So, as you see, our baby is cuter by the week. This is of comfort. We have a check up tomorrow.

We're headed for Washington state in a couple weeks. First we have to go to LA, I should say, get to go to LA and hang with the Eshelmans around the time of the ordination. That will be great fun. Brian is flying out as well, so it will be nice to be with him again, and Rev Lanning is to be there as well, last I heard, so it will be nice to see him again too. We get back here on a Monday and then drive out on Saturday, after Shawn gets off work in the AM. We have till Wednesday the 25th to get there so Shawn can get oriented the following two days. This contract is for 6 weeks. We hope (at this point anyway) that we will have an opportunity to extend as it will be possible for my sisters and fam to come down from PG to visit. YAY! Also, it sounds like Shawn has an unbelievable schedule! Mon to Thurs, and then off ALL WEEKEND! This idea makes us giddy. If you can imagine Shawn giddy, ok, I am giddy. There are several cool churches that we would like to visit, namely, the RP in Seattle, the Free Reformed in Seattle, and we'll likely visit Mars Hill Church too, theres a sattelite campus near us. So that will be fun. AND we have friends in WA. The Tarons and Harrs are there. So we look forward to getting together with them, and with Philip and Michael, who will be only an hour drive from us ( I think).

So I found these pics and wanted to post them. The one of our moms was taken at my bridal shower. Mom and Vicki got along like they were, hmm, sisters. The other is of Amanda when she was pregnant with Joshy. Shawn makes me laugh.




I had a good Lord's day, sadly Shawn had to work last night and tonight, so he slept all day. Great sermon http://www.marshillchurch.org/media/trial/temptation-from-sin . Good discussion. I had a friend call me, we had nice chat. I look forward to seeing them in Grand Rapids when we get back.

torture

the smell of roast in my crockpot stinks so bad i want to vomit and leave the house. thankfully its a cool day (55 degrees) so i can have the windows open. its not good enough though.
oh the joys of pregnancy. i am happy, i am. :D

update: so far so good

So the baby is 6 weeks old tomorrow (I am 8 weeks pregnant). Its still unreal that we have made it this far together. I am so thankful. And, progressively more sick. No puking still, thankfully, but definite nausea today for the first time. So this is a good sign they say.

I have been busy making little baby quilts to give or to keep, I dont know. I just pieced one top and am now working on a second. I've been listening to a delightful novel while sewing. :D This makes me miss my sisters a lot. I think I have an extra dose of emotionalism these days to make it worse. The book is called North and South, by Elizabeth Gaskell. Jody advised me of it and I downloaded it from www.librivox.org , for free as are all the recorded books found there, they are all in the public domain. yay!

Shawn's laboring away faithfully. God has blessed our endevour to pay down the debt thus far and we are thankful.

Well, I feel I must eat again. Good night!

New Years Resolutions

I looked at the top ten new years resolutions and found that I could call some of them my own for 2009.



1) Get out of debt, we'll make it this year.
2) Learn something new, Spanish, I'm already on chapter 4!
3) Help others, maybe by doing volunteer work or making quilts for people? i quit my job. yay, freedom.
4) Quit drinking, I just found out that I'm pregnant! Pray for the baby that it would live and be healthy!

Museum

So we decided to be tourists on Saturday. We went to a fancy museum.
We couldn't take any pictures inside or outside of the Medieval torture display, so this is all we have for that. It was horrific. People are so mean. All of us.

There was a huge sphere that had a bunch of projectors playing all at once. Pretty cool.


We were kind of exhausted after the torture, so Shawn took a nap in the biggest couch ever.

There was a display of icons. The first one is ST Liz and the baby looks a bit like Watson when he was a bit smaller.

The smallest kitchen ever. With a dishwasher! I haven't used it yet, we dont have enough dishes to justify it. When they are dirty they need washed immediately as there is no room for them to pile up anywhere, and we need them for the next meal, so, the dishwasher is kind of useless, whodathot.

So I still haven't taken pictures. But these are similar to our apartment in Mission, TX, they just need to be inverted.

Yep, we're in Mission on a mission. Shawn's working as a traveling nurse here temporarily, at this point he has an 8 week contract at a local hospital here. We're seeking to bust debt so he can go to seminary full time and not have to work full time at the same time!

So, things are good. We're looking for a church to fellowship with while we're here. Because Shawn had to work last night we'll just be going to an evening service tonight. While he slept most of the day I watched a few video sermons online and read a bit of a book on prayer by Bunyan. Its so easy to go through the motions of prayer and not actually do it sincerely, which is VAIN. I am such a religious person, I am repenting.
