Museum

So we decided to be tourists on Saturday. We went to a fancy museum.
We couldn't take any pictures inside or outside of the Medieval torture display, so this is all we have for that. It was horrific. People are so mean. All of us.

There was a huge sphere that had a bunch of projectors playing all at once. Pretty cool.

We were kind of exhausted after the torture, so Shawn took a nap in the biggest couch ever.

There was a display of icons. The first one is ST Liz and the baby looks a bit like Watson when he was a bit smaller.

There was a lot of weird art, these are just a few.

We had fun.

Great shots Tammy I especially liked the last! The rock scene? What was that? I..... love rocks:)
But I couldn't figure out whether it was outside of the Museum or a painting or a photo?
You must be LOVIN the sunshine and warm weather!!!!

Hi Kathy! The rocks were just outside between two parts of the museum. The first shot was outside the building, neat faux painted exterior walls.

We are loving the weather. It a bit cooler today though, its been spitting rain. I guess in mid and northern Texas there was a lot of freezing rain, over 100 car accidents, so they said on the radio.

Look at you wearing flip-flops in December! You are missing the snow storm. I'm not jealous. My turn for sandals is just around the corner.

Yeah, looks like Watson only because he is pale and fat. ;)

We all miss you guys.

Love the pictures...! Shawn's expressions, he hasn't changed, I'm glad!

;-)

See you saw some Mexican art...the day of the dead scenes...that is huge in the Mexican culture.

"People are mean" regarding torture...hahaha...what an understatement...hahaha...was there an iron maiden?

Hi Lydia,
Yes it was warm that day, we only wore sweaters because we were going to be in the AC for a few hours.

Ya, enjoy the snow while you can! Its only once every blue moon that you'll have it out in LA. So nice, I do not miss it. Though Dr Murray's Snow White thing make me wish to ski and sled, a little bit.

Yes Edgar, Shawn has not changed, well, maybe a little, but all for the better, you know sanctification is a process.
Yes we saw an Iron Maiden, crafted to pierce your body in way to torture you without hitting your vital organs so that you live longer. Sick eh? There were tons of devices there. One big one was a chair with spikes all over it and pressure things to push you down on them, or your legs on to them. We saw the classic thumikins (thumb screws) that the covenanters spoke of so much. We saw these devices, one like a ladder and one like a table, both intended for stretching a person beyond their limits and for dislocating limbs and eventually tearing them off. So gross. We also saw a guillotine, which seemed much less torturous. Though pretty gory, it seems that it would be a much better way to apply capital punishment, way better than the electric chair (there was one of those there as well). We kept thinking about stoning as a Biblical means of capital punishment and how that compared with some of these. Its an interesting discussion. One thing is for sure, most of the torture/capital P conducted by these devices was murderous and unjust.

You know the guillotine, was the most humane way to die. Quick and to the point...er...pardon the pun.

We humans are so evil...such devices are good reminder.

Well Tammy my house is rented now...PRAISE GOD!!...now to get a place here bring my family...settle in...and begin to apply ourselves in building Christ's Kingdom here in the DC Metro area...

hahaha...the word verification for me to post is "devisthi"...looks similar to devil...great...

Hugs and kisses, yes to Shawn too, on the cheek of course!!

I'm very disappointed that you couldn't snap any pictures of medieval torture devices. There's nothing I enjoy more than medieval torture devices, they were so creative back then.
